The “Nights Like This” artist took to Instagram Stories to share that they will be undergoing surgery in just a few days to address a hernia, a condition they’ve been open about for years. “Last two days with my hernia. Say bye,” Kehlani wrote, indicating that the time for the procedure has finally arrived.
This isn’t Kehlani’s first challenge with a hernia. In 2017, they had to cancel the European leg of their SweetSexySavage World Tour due to an emergency surgery for the same issue. The recovery process was challenging, especially since their body did not react well to the mesh implant typically used in hernia repairs.
Fast forward to 2025, and Kehlani has been keeping fans in the loop. Back in July, after some online speculation, they clarified the noticeable bulge in their stomach. “Yes, I have a hernia. That’s the bulge above my belly,” Kehlani explained. “No, it’s not a tumor. That’s my intestine.”
While some jumped to conclusions, Kehlani also mentioned that living with the hernia has been challenging, but surgery represents the progress they’ve long awaited.
