Megan Thee Stallion is fired up after her highly anticipated album Act II hit a roadblock on the charts. Despite the excitement surrounding her latest release, none of the tracks managed to debut on Apple Music or Spotify’s top song charts—a surprising twist for the Houston rapper who’s dominated streaming platforms this year.
And she’s not staying silent about it.
The “BOA” hitmaker took to social media to express her frustration with Apple Music after none of her tracks from the deluxe album “Megan Thee Stallion: Act II” debuted on the top Apple or Spotify song charts.
Earlier this month, Megan had teased that she was working on a mixtape.
Megan Thee Stallion embarked on a new chapter of her metamorphosis as an independent artist months after the release of her self-titled album. She dropped a new album, Megan: Act II, on Friday, featuring 13 songs and following the June release of Megan.
Unfortunately, the album seems to be facing some technicalities on streaming platforms.
Taking to social media, Megan shared her frustration, addressing her loyal fanbase, the Hotties, and dropping some tea about a potential issue with Apple Music’s handling of her album. In a tweet, she wrote, “GOOD MORNING HOTTIESSS. To my hotties that use APPLE MUSIC and were having issues with #MEGANACTII last night, make sure you redownload it now (I don’t know why they’re playing with me, but let’s stay positive).”
The original MEGAN album included hit songs like “Hiss” and “Cobra,” as well as appearances by Victoria Monét, GloRilla, UGK, and Big K.R.I.T. While the first release featured snake imagery with Megan emerging from a shell on the cover, MEGAN: ACT II features a metamorphosis, with Megan poised with butterfly wings representing growth and transformation.
During her chat with Fallon, Megan claimed 2024 as her year. She explained that releasing more music was necessary to keep the momentum going.
“I feel like I gotta keep the Hotties stimulated,” Megan responded with a smile. “You have to understand that this is the year of Megan Thee Stallion.”
“We did the Hot Girl Summer tour, I dropped my album… First of all, I did it so backward. I didn’t drop my album before the tour; I did it in the middle of the tour!” Megan added.
