Following the racial controversy surrounding their love life, Meghan Markle finally addresses her relationship with Prince Harry in an interview with Vanity Fair.
The actress/humanitarian spoke out about their relationship publicly for the first time since Prince Harry confirmed they were dating.
In Vanity Fair‘s October issue she said, “I can tell you that at the end of the day I think it’s really simple. We’re two people who are really happy and in love.”
Though the two have been in a relationship for almost two years, she admitted that they were dating for six months before it became public knowledge. “I was working during that whole time, and the only thing that changed was people’s perception. Nothing about me changed,” Markle said.
Despite her relationship status, she insisted that she is still her own person. “I’m still the same person that I am, and I’ve never defined myself by my relationship.”
