Missing Young Woman Toccara Johnson Found Safe After Two Weeks

A Chicago woman who was reported missing nearly two weeks ago has been found safe, according to the Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice.

Toccara Johnson, 22, was last seen on May 17 near 64th Street and King Drive in the Parkway Gardens neighborhood on the city’s South Side. Her disappearance prompted days of concern and intense search efforts from both her family and community members.

Earlier this week, Johnson’s family made a public plea for help in locating her. Her sister, Aisha Johnson, shared the emotional toll of her absence: “Not having her route is tough for us. We’ve been sharing the post. We were texting people, calling. We’ve called everybody that knows us, and no one has had contact with the car.”

As of now, few details have been released regarding the circumstances of Johnson’s disappearance or how she was located. However, the Chicago Activist Coalition For Justice confirmed on Facebook that “Toccara Johnson has been found safe. OFFICIAL statement will be released.”

Johnson was believed to possibly be in the area of 48th and Forestville or in Oswego, Illinois, before she was found. Her family and supporters are now awaiting an official update.
