Mo’Nique’s recent comedy set has reignited her long-standing feud with Oprah Winfrey, as the comedian took the opportunity to roast the TV mogul during her performance alongside Katt Williams.
The 56-year-old entertainer didn’t hold back, expressing both love and disdain for Winfrey while hurling insults at her.
Addressing the audience, Mo’Nique referred to Winfrey as a “raggedy b—-” and a “simple-minded motherf—–,” all while asserting her love for the media personality.
Encouraging the crowd to chant “F— you Oprah,” Mo’Nique made it clear that she was not intimidated or afraid to speak her mind.
The comedian’s animosity towards Winfrey stems from a feud that spans over 15 years, originating from Mo’Nique’s claims that Winfrey and Tyler Perry “blackballed” her in the industry.
Mo’Nique has accused Winfrey of interfering in her personal affairs and allowing her estranged family members to speak negatively about her on air.
In a recent podcast appearance, Mo’Nique further elaborated on her grievances, alleging that Winfrey and Perry sabotaged her career and contributed to her downfall.
Despite Mo’Nique’s claims, Perry has consistently denied any involvement in her career struggles.
Additionally, Mo’Nique criticized Winfrey in light of Taraji P. Henson’s allegations of poor working conditions on the set of the 2023 remake of The Color Purple.
According to Mo’Nique, Winfrey’s actions during the filming reflected a disregard for the well-being of Black women.
At this point, Mo’Nique and Winfrey’s feud shows no signs of abating, with the comedian unapologetically standing by her accusations and expressing her frustrations in public forums.
