Muni Long decided to share some unexpected thoughts on one of Lyfe Jennings’ most beloved tracks, and fans weren’t here for it.

Out of nowhere, Muni jumped online and called out Lyfe’s 2004 soulful ballad “Must Be Nice,” labeling it toxic. In her post, she didn’t hold back, writing:

“Maturing is realizing Lyfe Jennings was really a hatin a** n***a… ‘must be nice…’ is crazy.”

Social media instantly went abuzz because the shade seemed random. Nobody knew why she came for the song, but her words definitely left folks scratching their heads.

Of course, Lyfe Jennings caught wind of the comment and didn’t waste time clapping back, but he kept it calm and grown. Instead of dragging her, he flipped it into a teachable moment.

“Maturing is realizing that looking through a filter of trauma will have you seeing grey skies where there are only blue. I’m still a fan, Miss Long. Be blessed,” Lyfe wrote in response.

Fans quickly came to his defense, calling Muni’s take unfair.

One Instagram user wrote: “Is that hate in the room with us? Where was he hatin’? Lmao.” Another fan said: “That man said… keep the drama on yo side… that was gracefully handled.”

Others doubled down, saying the track wasn’t toxic at all, but a reminder to appreciate real love and stability in a relationship. “Must be nice was a song to tell people to be grateful,” one fan commented.

Meanwhile, some folks warned Muni to tread lightly, with one person pointing out, “I’m glad he responded with love. J. Cole left a session with her because of negative talk. I hope this doesn’t create a negative image of her with other artists.”

So was Muni just keeping it real, or did she come for a classic unnecessarily?
