NeNe Leakes has revealed that she would be happy to return to “Real Housewives of Atlanta,” so that she can settle a few scores.
“Yeah, sure. I’ll return to the show,” NeNe told “The Real” cohosts Loni Love and Garcelle Beauvais. “I’m okay with returning to the show as long as we can work through a few things. I’d be happy to return to the show.”
Last month, a television source claimed that NeNe would never return to the show.
The source told HollywoodLife that there is “no way that NeNe will ever be back on that show after the way things were left between the network and her.”
The source continued, “Those rumors are completely false. There have not been any conversations for her to appear.” Per the insider, Bravo wants “different ladies with a different vibe.”
NeNe announced her exit from the show in September 2020. At the time, she said that it had been a “very difficult decision.” Three months later, NeNe incited her fans to boycott Bravo. She accused the network of racial discrimination and blasted the network on social media after Andy Cohen discussed her exit with Wendy Williams on air.
Speaking to the ladies on “The Real,” NeNe acknowledged that she and Cohen would have to sit down and talk things through.
“I think Andy and I were really close for a really, really long time and I love Benny Boo [Benjamin] and I helped pay for his baby shower and all those things,” she said. “I think that Andy and I need to have a sit-down and talk and we’re off to the races!”
The show has suffered from flagging ratings, and a NeNe comeback would most likely boost viewership.
After NeNe announced her exit, Bravo did hint that the door would be open for her to return.
“We wish Nene all the best in her future endeavors and thank her for sharing her journey for over a decade with the fans of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. She’s been instrumental since the start and will truly be missed, and maybe one day she’ll hold the peach again,” the network’s statement read.
