R&B singer Nivea has revealed that jailed singer R. Kelly tried to talk to her when she was underage.
Nivea worked with Kelly on her songs “Laundromat,” “Touchin’,” and “The One For Me.”
During a conversation with Angela Yee, Lore’l, and Gigi Maguire, Nivea revealed that he tried to draw her into his web when she was a young girl.
“Have you ever had geriatric penis, like old penis?” Yee asked Nivea.
“It just depends,” Nivea replied. After more digging, Nivea was finally asked whether she’d ever been intimate with Kelly. She emphatically denied that she had and appeared to be offended (as most people would be.)
She was then asked whether the jailed crooner had tried to talk to her when she was a teenager.
“Yes, he did,” Nivea disclosed. “The thing is, being in the industry as a young, little girl or a young female, the industry is filled with men. Everybody’s trying to talk to you, girl!”
Kelly is set to go to trial on Aug. 9 in Brooklyn on racketeering charges. Prosecutors allege that he ran a criminal enterprise that recruited women and underage girls for illegal sexual contact. It is also alleged that he then isolated and threatened them to keep them under control.
Kelly is also set for trial in September in Chicago’s federal court. In Chicago, he is charged with various sex abuse-related counts, including allegations he conspired with two former employees to tamper with his 2008 child pornography trial in Cook County by paying off witnesses and victims to change their stories.
Kelly was acquitted by a jury in 2008. Since then, he has been accused of recruiting minors during the trial.
Kelly has denied all of the allegations against him despite several women coming forward to accuse him and prosecutors claiming they have a mountain of evidence against the star.
