Oprah And Gayle Open Up About Their ‘Truth Bond’ In Rare Interview

by Gee NY

Oprah Winfrey and Gayle King recently sat down for an interview with Melinda French Gates, where they opened up about their enduring friendship and the rumors that have surrounded their relationship for years.

During the conversation, Oprah shared a profound insight into why their bond has sparked so much speculation.

“One of the things I started to think was, maybe people aren’t accustomed to seeing women with this kind of truth bond. The reason why I think our friendship works is that Gayle is happier, not happy, happier for me for any kind of success or victory or challenge I get through, than I am for myself,” Oprah explained.

Melinda French Gates asked how they navigate their friendship in the public eye versus their private lives.

Oprah addressed the longstanding gay rumors they have faced, saying:

“You know, for years, people used to say we were gay, and listen, we were up against that forever. And people still may think it.”

Gayle added that if they were romantically involved, they would be open about it:

“I used to say to Oprah, ‘You gotta do a show on this, because it’s hard enough for me to get a date on Saturday night with people thinking we’re gay, because if we were gay, we’d tell you!”

Oprah reflected on how their 50-year friendship thrives because they are genuinely happier for each other’s successes than for their own.

She stated that this deep bond might be why their relationship has been subject to such scrutiny.
