Viola Davis Says She Made Sure Her Wax Figure Had ‘The Ding On My Nose’ And ‘That Bump’: ‘They Got My Booty Right!’

Viola Davis isn’t just a Hollywood legend—she’s now immortalized in wax with a figure that she personally made sure got every detail right.

Appearing on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the Oscar-winning actress opened up about the surreal experience of meeting her Madame Tussauds wax likeness and how she took an active role in ensuring it honored her authentic self—especially her identity as a proud Black woman.

“I made sure they got the skin tone right, the teeth right, the ding on my nose right,” Davis told Meyers with a smile. “They got my booty right—I got that bump!”

Her humorous and heartfelt commentary had the audience laughing, but also struck a deeper chord when Davis reflected on her younger self.

“Once again, I made six-year-old Viola squeal because I was always bullied when I was that age,” she said. “And it’s not a sad story because… I was also the girl who would, you know, as I was running with the snot dripping and crying, I’d always turn around and say, ‘kiss my ass, mother—.’”

Davis praised the artists behind the wax figure—from the makeup to the hair to the Armani dress—and emphasized that the experience wasn’t just about a celebrity moment, but about representation, self-worth, and a kind of full-circle affirmation.

“It’s like a dream I had when I was 28… There are signs in your life where you feel worthy, and they help the inside feel worthy,” she said, her voice thick with emotion.

Fans praised Davis online for speaking candidly about beauty, identity, and the pride of seeing herself reflected so accurately in a public space.
