Grammy winner Cynthia Erivo is making major noise with the announcement of her second studio album, “I Forgive You,” and she’s doing it in the most jaw-dropping way imaginable: completely nude, save for a towering pair of Pleaser platform boots and a stunning pair of angel wings.
On Thursday, Erivo posted the album’s official cover art to Instagram and instantly set the internet ablaze. The black-and-white image is bold, vulnerable, and completely unforgettable. It shows her standing gracefully, posed with intention and strength, her body free of clothing but not of meaning. Her arms wrap gently around herself in a way that feels less about hiding and more about honoring.
The wings are massive, feathery, and theatrical—commanding space and exuding ethereal power. And those Adore-1050C style, priced at $44 platform heels, look like they are straight out of a pop goddess’s dream.
The calf-length, enchanting transparent PVC uppers gave the impression that Cynthia was hovering above the ground.
The photo toes the line between softness and defiance, inviting us into something deeper than a mere album launch.
In an interview with Attitude last year, Cynthia shared her thoughts on this thrilling moment in her career: “It’s really odd sometimes! I find myself outside of myself going, what the heck is going on? How did that happen? I think, sometimes, we fall into patterns of thinking that some of this stuff is normal. It’s not. Being at the Oscars is not a normal thing.”
“That’s not something everybody experiences,” she continued. “I’m constantly trying to remind myself of the fact that these are not everyday things. That forces me to sit in a space of gratefulness. And to never let it get old. I don’t want the kid in me to be like, bored! I want the kid in me to be like: ‘This is really cool.’ I want to be blown away when I see Sally Field!”
Fans have been waiting for this moment. I Forgive You, which drops June 6, follows her acclaimed debut album and features her recent soul-stirring singles “Worst of Me” and “Replay.”
If the music is anything like this visual, introspective, dramatic, and full of fire, then buckle up. We’re in for a spiritual ride!
