A tragic incident unfolded in Houston last week when 25-year-old Jalen Whitlock was fatally shot by her ex-boyfriend, Jalin Foreman, during her child’s birthday celebration.
The young mother of two was struck by a bullet after Foreman allegedly arrived at the townhouse, where Whitlock was hosting the party with her current boyfriend and their children, aged six and eight.
According to authorities, Foreman showed up unexpectedly, yelling and firing multiple shots into the home.
Despite the chaos, Whitlock’s boyfriend and her children were unharmed.
Unfortunately, Whitlock was found unresponsive at the front door when police arrived, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Foreman fled immediately after the shooting, but law enforcement has since apprehended him.
The 27-year-old is now in custody and faces murder charges, with his bond set at $1 million.
Angela Whitlock, the victim’s grandmother, has vowed to seek justice:
“He killed my granddaughter in front of his children, making them instant orphans.”
Jalen’s family is now mourning her and posting about the importance of getting ‘justice’ for her, as she now leaves behind two children, who are now seemingly being cared for by their grandmother, according to a GoFundMe started by a cousin.
