Fans of “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper” could be treated to a reboot of the show, according to Holly Robinson Peete.
Raven Symoné said she would do it, so we’re just waiting on Warner Brothers to give us a green light. I hang out with Mark Curry all of the time in real life. I still hang with Mr. Cooper very often and we are buddies ’til we die. I love it.” Peete told Hollywood Life.
The show premiered in 1993 and ran for five seasons before it sadly came to an end in 1997.
In the series, the actress played Vanessa Russell, Mark’s roommate. At the beginning of the series, Vanessa worked for the firm Toplyn and Toplyn. She eventually quit. After a stream of random jobs, she then settled as an Emergency Medical Technician. She dated the main character, Mark Cooper (played by Curry.) The pair eventually became engaged.
Peete told the publication at what stage of her life she thinks Vanessa would be in a possible reboot.
“I think Vanessa would’ve married very rich,” she said. “She’d be well taken care of and lots of Louboutins. Maybe she’d be on her third or fourth marriage now. Who knows. She was so much fun to play because she was so ditzy and loud and wrong all of the time, but she was so fearless and fun and I love the physical comedy. I miss jumping in trash cans and falling down and doing that kind of stuff. For me, her character was a total dream to play. I’m ready to put my Loubs and my knee pads and do my stunts.”
Several hit 90s sitcoms have been successfully given the reboot treatment. We’d love a “Hangin'” reboot!
