Scottie Beam and Sylvia Obell have announced the news of her new show, âGet You A Me,â debuting on Netflix next week.
In the show, Scottie and bestie Sylvia will be giving men advice on how to land women like them â and just in time for cuffing season!
âCuffing szn is in full swing and your faves @scottiebeam & @sylviaobell are here to help these bachelors become eligible to #GetYouAMe,â Strong Black Leadâs tweet reads.
Love isnât easy, but we know weâre all in good hands after tuning in to them dish out their sage advice via Strong Black Leadâs âOkay, now Listen,â podcast.
From her gig at Hot 97, supporters have been heavily invested in Scottie Beamâs journey. From landing Nike endorsements to Freddie Gibbâs naming a rap song after her â itâs been an amazing ride.
However, navigating a male-dominated industry has not been without its barriers.
âIâm going to be completely honest, Iâm still not comfortable in my skin,â âBlack Coffeeâsâ Marc Lamont Hill in 2019. âIâve learned to embrace it, Iâve learned to accept it. But to be comfortable? Um, thatâs something I think [with] therapy, that Iâm working through. I have to be completely honest and vulnerable,â she revealed.
âI even had pink lipgloss on today and I had to take it off, because I always learned through microgressions or small things people will say, where theyâll say, âDark skin women arenât supposed to wear light lipstick,â or whatever it is. So I never do.â
Two years on, Scottie and Sylvia are beaming with self-love and acceptance â and are showing men how they can land a melanin Goddess⊠for keeps.
The âGet You A Meâ limited series debuts on Strong Black Leadâs âStill Watching Netflixâ YouTube channel on Tuesday, Nov 9, at 12 pm PT/3 pm ET.
