As the summer begins to wind down and schools across the country have already started register the kids for the new academic year, one young lady is hard at work. Equality for HER wants to help the youth Detroit students prepare for the school year. Mari Copeny aka Little Miss Flint is teaming up with Pack Your Back to help provide backpacks and school supplies schoolchildren across Detroit and Flint, Michigan.
Amariyanna Copeny went viral in 2016 after writing a letter urging President Obama to visit her Flint, MI, during the height of its contaminated water crisis. She also made headlines again when she called out President Trump for “breaking his promise” to fix Flint.
