Gucci Mane has announced the death of his former protégé, Luv Enchanting, at age 26.
The trap pioneer confirmed the tragic news on Tuesday, June 11, amid reports of the artist being on life support.
“So sad to have to say R.I.P. to such a great young lady, a true star. We gone all miss you, Chant @luvenchanting,” Mane wrote on Instagram, sharing a photo of the young rapper.
Born Channing Nicole Larry, Enchanting joined Gucci Mane’s New 1017 Records in 2020 and left the label the following year.
Enchanting’s career was already on an upward trajectory, with several successful projects. However, it was the endorsement from Gucci Mane that genuinely propelled her into the spotlight.
In 2020, at 22, she signed to the renowned rapper’s 1017 record label after making such an imprint on him.
Enchanting’s debut 1017 project, ‘No Luv,’ was released in 2022, marking a significant milestone in her career.
News of her battle for survival in the intensive care unit had surfaced yesterday. Late Monday night (June 10), Enchanting was reportedly hospitalized and had died from an unspecified medical emergency. Many took to Twitter and Instagram to express their grief and condolences, only to later find out that the situation was not as initially reported.
Although little information was provided about Enchanting’s circumstances or cause, her sister, Kayy Jayy, posted a second statement denying these allegations.
“Can y’all stop posting? You don’t have actual facts,” she explained. “She’s still fighting, she’s not dead… I’m here at the hospital. My sister is not dead.”
Unfortunately, the worst has come to pass, and the rising Texas star’s life has been cut short.
The purported boyfriend, Lilcj Kasino, on Instagram, uploaded a lengthy post verifying Enchanting’s demise. He verified that the rapper’s family had turned off the life support system and that she was indeed on it.
The news of her death has left fans in shock and uncertainty, sparking a conversation about the misfortunes of 1017 signees.
