Sunday night’s viewers were left baffled after Real Housewives of Atlanta star NeNe Leakes revealed that she and husband Gregg have an understanding” about their marriage.
“Gregg and I have been together for a really really long time and we are family for real,” she said to producers on the After Show. “We’re just not gonna be apart, we do have an understanding. We have a great understanding.”
When pressed further, Leakes remained vague, telling them “He’s not going anywhere, and I’m not going anywhere. Our understanding, we see each other. That’s all I can tell you. We’re never gonna be apart, I’ll tell you that. I doubt that we’ll ever divorce. I doubt that. We may not be together, we not gonna divorce.”
The startling revelation comes almost a week after Leakes revealed that she caught her husband having “inappropriate” conversations with a former employee. She told the story during a recent visit to Angela Yee’s Lip Service podcast.
According to the reality television star, a gay employee called the then-employee, a woman named Juanita, out in front of her.
“The gay guy said, ‘I don’t appreciate you calling me a queen,'” Leakes recalled. “He said listen, ‘You wouldn’t want to do that because you know I know your secret.’ He was like, ‘How about you and Mr. Gregg be FaceTiming and talking?'”
Leakes then says that she offered Gregg a compromise.
“Gregg has took passes that I didn’t even give him,” she explained. “I like to talk open relationships, and I have talked about that with Gregg. I’ve said to him, ‘If you’re going to cheat, your relationship is open anyway, so why not call it an open marriage?’ He said, ‘Hell no, I don’t want anyone eating out of my garden. ‘Well, they might eat out of your garden, and you don’t know about it then.”
But it seems that the pair did reach an agreement, but it’s unlikely that Leakes is going to spill any tea as to what that is.
