Comedian and actress Leslie Jones delivered a fiery rebuke of President Donald Trump after he referred to a female reporter as “piggy.”
Jones is questioning why the remark has not sparked broader outrage or collective action from the public and the press.
Jones made the comments during a conversation with journalist Nicolle Wallace on The Best People, where she argued that such language would be unacceptable from anyone, let alone a sitting president.
“If he was on ‘The Apprentice’ we wouldn’t care. He’s the president. Do you understand?” Jones said, stressing the weight of presidential conduct.

She criticized what she described as a pattern of insults directed at women journalists, including being called “stupid,” “dumb,” and “insubordinate,” and questioned why members of the press do not more forcefully object.
Jones suggested that a collective walkout or public stand could challenge behavior she sees as demeaning and corrosive to democratic norms.
“I don’t understand how these people let that slide,” Jones said, expressing disbelief that such remarks have become normalized.
Her comments reflect growing concern among media figures and advocates about Trump’s rhetoric targeting journalists, particularly women, and the broader implications for press freedom and civic discourse.
