Controversial Candace Owens Sparks New Outrage With Another Rant Against LGBTQ+ Community

by Gee NY

In a recent social media outburst, right-wing political commentator Candace Owens has once again come under fire for launching a homophobic and transphobic tirade against the LGBTQ+ community.

The 34-year-old Republican, known for her controversial statements, referred to LGBTQ+ individuals as a “sexual plague” and blamed gender-affirming care for societal issues.

On Thursday, January 4, Owens took to social media, specifically X (formerly Twitter), to express her views on mass shootings in schools, oddly attributing the violence to “big Pharma and its clinical promotion of insanity.”

She claimed that children were being “mass drugged” and subjected to “psychiatric experiments” due to the pharmaceutical industry.

Owens then escalated her rhetoric by targeting the queer community, stating:

“Gender dysphoria is a mental disorder, and the entire LGBTQ movement brought with it a sexual plague on our society.”

The inflammatory comments sparked immediate backlash, with trans journalist Erin Reed pointing out Owens’ use of “genocidal language.”

This isn’t the first time Owens has faced criticism for spreading hateful narratives.

In the past, she was demonetized by YouTube for intentionally misgendering trans individuals. In October, during an interview in the U.K., Owens claimed that transgender rights would lead to pedophilia.

Notably, she had previously blamed a school shooting on the trans community, a stance she reiterated after a tragic incident at Covenant School in Nashville.

Owens’ controversial statements continue to draw attention, with critics denouncing her hateful rhetoric and lack of originality in perpetuating harmful stereotypes.
