U.S. Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is raising alarm over what she describes as a troubling pattern in the actions of Donald Trump, suggesting that the president’s recent foreign policy decisions may coincide with developments tied to the so-called Epstein files.
Speaking during an interview with MeidasTouch Network, Ocasio-Cortez argued that military and geopolitical moves involving countries such as Venezuela and Iran appear to follow moments when renewed scrutiny emerges around documents linked to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
“Trump has impulsively… gone in on Venezuela. He impulsively went in on Iran,” Ocasio-Cortez said in the interview. “There was no exit and no endgame for either of these situations.”

According to the New York Democrat, those moves have had broader global consequences.
“It led to increased global instability everywhere he goes,” she said, adding that each escalation has coincided with renewed attention on the Epstein files.
The lawmaker said she does not believe the timing is coincidental.
“I don’t think that coincidence is something to dismiss off the cuff,” she said, suggesting the president may feel “existentially tied” to the controversy surrounding the files.
The comments come amid heightened international tensions following reported U.S. military actions involving Iran and increased scrutiny of government records related to Epstein.

Ocasio-Cortez went further in the interview, arguing that if political pressure related to the files is influencing national security decisions, it would raise serious concerns about leadership.
“If the Epstein files have such a hold on President Trump and this administration that they are willing to plunge us and risk world war in order to save themselves politically, that is the definition of someone who cannot make objective decisions for the American people,” she said.
She added:
“And I actually think that it is one reason that he must be removed from office, because if the Epstein files have such a hold on President Trump and this administration that they are willing to plunge us and risk world war in order to save themselves politically, that is the definition of someone who cannot make objective decisions for the American people.”
The White House has not publicly responded to Ocasio-Cortez’s remarks, according to reports.
Her comments reflect a broader debate in Washington over both the administration’s foreign policy approach in the wake of wars single-handedly declared by Trump, and the ongoing controversy surrounding documents connected to Epstein, a financier whose criminal case and network of associates have continued to draw scrutiny years after his death.
Ocasio-Cortez is worried the stakes could extend beyond domestic politics to the stability of global affairs.
