Dr. Wendy Osefo Talks ‘RHOP’ Drama: ‘I Got Blindsided in Season Six’

The sixth season of “Real Housewives of Potomac” hasn’t even kicked off yet, but we already know the ladies will be bringing it this season.

One feud set to factor in a major way is the drama between Dr. Wendy Osefo and Gizelle Bryant.

Gizelle has been spreading rumors that Dr. Wendy’s husband, Eddie, has been cheating on her. And Dr. Wendy is very “disappointed” in the woman she thought was her friend.

“I think ‘season 5 Wendy’ was just a bit unsure,” the college professor told Entertainment Tonight. “And I think ‘season 6 Wendy’ came into it more confident. OK, this is what I know. I’ve been around these women. This is what I can expect from them. And that was the big difference for me. But it’s so funny because even with that mindset, I got blindsided in season six. Even though I came in saying, ‘OK, I got this, I sort of know who I can buck at,’ I was still blindsided.”

Dr. Wendy says that she is not mad at the blogs for reporting on the cheating allegations because that’s what they do. But she expects more from her friends.

“I do think it was premeditated,” she says, “and I also know that certain individuals on this show have a pattern in the practice of attacking people’s families. That’s what they do. That’s what they get off on. And you know, again, if that’s what you do, do you, but don’t do that with the Osefo crew. I don’t play. And I say that very clear, to not play with my husband’s name. Let the other people do that, the blogs, because that’s what they’re paid to do, but don’t you do that,” she says, later adding, “Don’t do that because I will drag you.”

At some point over the course of the seasons, all of the women’s marriages and relationships have been at the center of the drama. Ashley Darby and her husband Michael have faced his cheating scandal (and he was caught on camera.” Karen Huger was even accused of cheating on her husband, Ray. It’s part and parcel of the process.

But Dr. Wendy is not here for it.

“I take my vows seriously, my vows are sacred. It’s a sacrament,” Dr. Wendy adds. “Don’t play with that. Don’t play with me and don’t play with my husband. So forget the cameras. I’m talking to you in real life. And I wanted to make that very clear. These other people may let people play with their relationships. Don’t play with mine.”

“Real Housewives of Potomac” season 6 premieres on Bravo Sunday, July 11.
