Las Vegas Aces’ star and two-time WNBA MVP A’ja Wilson continued her tradition of celebrating Pride Month in style, treating her teammates to a special cake adorned with rainbows, disco balls, and a bold message: “Hooray you gay.”
In an Instagram post, Wilson shared her annual gesture, describing this year’s cake as “top tier and straight to the point.”
This marks another instance of Wilson’s support for her LGBTQ+ teammates and community during Pride Month.
On the court, Wilson remains a standout performer for the Aces, currently averaging a league-leading 26.9 points per game alongside 11.1 rebounds.
Despite Wilson’s impressive stats, the Aces are 10-6 this season, placing them fifth in the WNBA standings, trailing the league-leading New York Liberty by 4.5 games.
In their recent victory against the Washington Mystics with a score of 88-77, Wilson played a pivotal role, contributing 11 points, nine rebounds, and five assists. Looking ahead, the Aces will face the Indiana Fever, led by standout rookie Caitlin Clark, on Tuesday.
Both Wilson and Clark are among the top contenders in early fan voting for the upcoming WNBA All-Star Game. Clark, reflecting on her potential participation, emphasized her current focus on the team’s performance, stating:
“My main focus is on this team.”
Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese, who recently made WNBA history with seven consecutive double-doubles as a rookie, continues to impress across the league, drawing praise from Wilson following their recent matchup.
The WNBA season continues to showcase exceptional talent and competitive spirit, with players like Wilson and Clark leading the charge both on and off the court.
