Team USA’s A’ja Wilson is showcasing her dominance at the 2024 Paris Olympics, achieving a historic milestone not seen in the 21st century.
The Las Vegas Aces star has tallied an impressive 47 points and 26 rebounds in just two group play games, shooting a remarkable 57.6 percent from the field.
Wilson’s standout performance continued in Team USA’s 87-74 victory over Belgium on Thursday. Leveraging Team USA’s size advantage, she posted another double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds.
This followed her earlier game against Japan, where she scored 24 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in a decisive 102-76 win.
According to FIBA, Wilson has become the first Team USA player to record at least four Olympic double-doubles since the turn of the millennium.
This feat includes her two recent double-doubles in Paris, adding to her two from the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
Breanna Stewart also contributed significantly in the game against Belgium, scoring 26 points and collecting seven rebounds.
With the last game in group play against Germany on Sunday, Wilson has the opportunity to extend her record-setting run.
