Candace Owens’ Career Faces Setback As Group That Catapulted Her To Fame Criticizes Her Stance On Israel-Gaza Conflict

by Gee NY

Candace Owens is facing a setback in her career as a conservative commentator because she is losing support from the group that initially boosted her prominence.

The David Horowitz Freedom Center, known for its conservative and anti-Islam stance, disapproved of Owens’ comments on the Israel-Gaza War.

David Horowitz, the founder of the center, criticized Owens for likening Israel to the segregated South and implying that the Israeli government was involved in genocide against Palestinians.

In a statement published in Front Page Magazine, Horowitz expressed disappointment in Owens, stating that he discovered her on YouTube before she gained national recognition. He accused her of providing a platform to what he deemed as “anti-Israel voices” and promoting what he called “Hamas’ genocidal lies.” Horowitz further criticized Owens for her association with figures like Andrew Tate and accused her of seeking attention and financial gain by playing the victim.

Owens, who remains a commentator for The Daily Wire, founded by Ben Shapiro, was also criticized for her past statements, including her lack of support for George Floyd and her negative views on the Black community.

The news of Owens’ falling out with the David Horowitz Freedom Center sparked reactions on social media, with some users pointing out the irony of the group disassociating from her after initially supporting her commentary on Black issues.

“See how racist they all are? They funded her talking about Black people, and now they are trying to silence her when she’s talking about them,” one person wrote.

The controversy extends beyond Owens’ association with the Freedom Center. She recently clashed with Ben Shapiro over her stance on Israel’s invasion of Gaza.

The situation in Gaza was briefly mentioned in the news story, noting the conflict and a temporary ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

In a post on social media, Owens reiterated her stance against genocide, emphasizing that no government should have the right to commit such atrocities. Meanwhile, David Horowitz concluded his statement by bidding farewell to Owens and expressing continued support for those who, in his view, genuinely work towards advancing the principles of liberty and life.
