Musical icon Dionne Warwick has shared that she would like Teyana Taylor to play her in a series about her life — and she wants Netflix to make it happen.
“This is a case for @netflix,” she captioned a video, asking her followers if they would watch a series about her life. “Please don’t ask who I would cast to play me as it would obviously be @TEYANATAYLOR.”
“🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾,” wrote Taylor responded.
Netflix’s Twitter quickly caught wind of Warwick’s post, writing “taking ✍️ notes ✍️..” The “I Say a Little Prayer” singer replied, “I’ll call ya!”
The similarities between the two singers is uncanny.
The tweet was most likely a boost for Taylor who announced that she would be retiring from music after years of trying to be released from her record label, Def Jam.
Taylor announced the news of her retirement via an Instagram post:
I’m retiring this chapter of my story with the comfort that i can depart with peace of mind seeing that all the hard work & passion put in was indeed loved & supported somewhere in the world! To all my supporters from day 1 & all my new ones I love you and I thank you for everything & don’t worry y’all know all hustlers have the understanding that when one door closes another will open … either that or I’m pickin da locks petunia!!! So wassup
Shortly after the sad news, she announced that she is now the creative director of global fashion brand, Pretty Little Thing.
