Gayle King has responded with poise and warmth following a recent statement by Megan Thee Stallion, in which the rapper referred to her as a “b*tch” and confessed to lying in an earlier incident.

Gayle King has responded to Megan Thee Stallion’s recent remarks while remaining composed and respectful.

Megan Thee Stallion, who previously denied having an intimate relationship with Lanez, recently clarified her statements in the new documentary. Reflecting on her previous interview with King, she expressed her dissatisfaction with being questioned about her relationship during a 2020 shooting incident involving Lanez.

“Yes, bih, I lied to Gayle King, bih,” Megan said in the doc. “First of all, I didn’t know that bih was gon’ even ask me about that shi*t. We supposed to be talking about this shooting. Why are you asking me about fking Tory?

“That’s not what this is about,” she went on. “Even if it was, I fked this nia like once, maybe twice, on a drunk night. Bih kept catching me out of my fking mind.”

Taking to her Instagram account, Gayle King reacted to the rapper admitting she lied to her in their much-watched 2022 interview.

“Hey, I’m just sitting here, minding my own business,” King began, sharing her response to viewers. “People are reaching out to me saying, ‘Hey Gayle, Megan Thee Stallion just called you a b*tch.'” But instead of giving a typical clap-back response, King took the high road,

“I know you’re expecting me, or maybe you’re thinking I have something negative to say. I do not,” King assured her audience, adding, “I have nothing but great, great love and respect for Megan Thee Stallion, and [I’m] cheering her on always.”

Gayle King also said she wanted people to focus on other matters like the upcoming presidential election on November 5.

“How has this election got so nasty?” she questioned. “How do we tap that down?”

Megan insisted that lying to King does not mean she lied about being shot by Lanez. In her documentary, Megan Thee Stallion: In Her Words, she also discussed Lanez’s attempts to cover up his actions, such as a jail call to Kelsey Harris, Megan’s former best friend, in which he begged her to help “bail me out of this s–t.”
