Alicia Keys’ lastborn is showing the world just how protective he is about his mother and isn’t taking any mess when it comes to making sure she’s okay.
On Sunday, Keys’ husband and producer extraordinaire, Swizz Beatz, took to Instagram to share photos of his 8-year-old son, Genesis, standing stone-faced while his mother performed in Salt Lake City as part of her Keys To The Summer Tour.
“My boy said I’m not playing no games on moms stage,” Swizz wrote with laughing emojis. “He a real serious one. Thank you Gen we love you and your protection. He didn’t care she was live on stage.”
Just days before Swizz shared the photos, Genesis expressed his discontent after the Un-Thinkable star’s nipple covers were showing.
On Friday, the mother of two shared a clip of Genesis while backstage on the Brooklyn leg of her tour.
“[Are you] really gonna do this mom?” he questioned, while pointing to his mother’s heart-shaped stickers. “So everybody can see your boobs. I’ve never seen somebody do that.”
Keys replied: “It’s not a big deal — it’s boobs. Everyone has boobs.”
Keys has been quite busy lately, after releasing five new live albums in a short time span. Born Alicia Augello Cook, the 43-year-old star signed with Columbia Records. She later signed with Arista Records and released her infamous debut album, Songs in A Minor with J Records, which catapulted her to international stardom.
She has since earned nine Grammy Awards, 17 NAACP Image Awards, 12 ASCAP Awards and has been regarded as one of the most influential musicians of all time, according to TIME. She also snagged an award from the Songwriters Hall of Fame and National Music Publishers Association and VH1 placed her on their 100 Greatest Artists of All Time and 100 Greatest Women in Music lists.
Her tour ends today in Oakland.
