The moment we’ve all been dreading is looming… the season finale of the final season of Issa Rae’s “Insecure.”
Over the years, viewers have fallen in love with the stars of the show and become emotionally invested in all of their journeys.
HBO Max has released the trailer for upcoming documentary, “Insecure: The End,” which the network describes as “an intimate look at the making of the final season and the cultural impact of the HBO award winning comedy.”
Judging from the trailer, the stars were also all emotionally invested and connected to their on-screen personas. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. And there won’t be in our homes once we finally sit down to watch the doc.
Check it out below… We’d advise having a box of Kleenex at hand.
In March, Rae explained why she decided to wrap up the beloved series.
“I’ve been wrapping my head around this since candidly, season 3,” she told PEOPLE. “But I’m so grateful to be able to play this character, who is obviously a version of me, and in the same way that I want this character to grow, I want to be able to grow too.”
She also assured her fans that they would be seeing as much of her as we have become accustomed to:
“Being on set every day, I’m definitely taking it all in on a different level now, just in terms of, ‘Wow, I love this family. This is my family,’ and we’ve done so much and these people are incredible, and I feel so blessed to work with them.” She added, “I know I’ll look back on this time very, very fondly, as I do now.”
We are grateful for the highs and lows experienced through the cast of the show. “Insecure” will be missed. (Thank God, we can binge-watch it over and over on HBO Max.)
The documentary will air on HBO Max Sunday, Dec. 26 in advance of its HBO premiere on Monday, Dec. 27 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.
