Beyoncé’s latest film, “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé,” has secured place as the fifth-highest-grossing concert film in history.

Released on December 1, 2023, the movie has raked in just under $44 million in international ticket sales within two months of its global premiere, according to a report by Forbes.

Leading the pack is Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour at No. 1, boasting an impressive $260 million in worldwide ticket grosses.

“Renaissance” follows closely behind, eclipsing concert film classics like Justin Bieber’s “Never Say Never,” Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: “Best of Both Worlds Concert,” and One Direction’s “This Is Us.”

Even in 2024, Beyoncé’s concert film continues to captivate audiences as it still plays in select theaters, securing a spot among the 25 highest-grossing pictures of the year in the United States.

The film provides a unique behind-the-scenes look at Beyoncé’s meticulous process in orchestrating her 56-show world tour, featuring glamorous highlights of live performances and the stunning high-fashion looks worn by herself and her dancers throughout the tour.

The film’s premiere at the Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Los Angeles drew an A-list crowd, including Beyoncé’s husband Jay-Z, Destiny’s Child bandmates Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, LaTavia Roberson, and LeToya Luckett, as well as Kris Jenner, Gabrielle Union, Lizzo, Janelle Monáe, and director Ava DuVernay.

Ava DuVernay, an Academy Award-winning director, took to Instagram after the premiere to praise Beyoncé’s directorial prowess.

DuVernay highlighted Beyoncé’s ability to navigate challenges faced by Black women leaders, showcasing moments where she was doubted, second-guessed, and gaslit.

“Every decision that a director makes in the course of our work, she does brilliantly,” DuVernay posted on IG.

“Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé” captures the journey of Beyoncé’s 56-stop Renaissance Tour, spanning from the opening show in Stockholm, Sweden, to the grand finale in Kansas City, Missouri.
