K Michelle expressed her displeasure with how Donald Trump’s running mate, JD Vance, publicly tried to confront Vice President Kamala Harris.
The drama began when Ohio Senator JD Vance attempted to make a bold political statement during a public event featuring Vice President Harris on the tarmac at Wisconsin airport.
Republican vice presidential nominee admitted Wednesday that he had a “bit of fun” trying to catch up with Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris on an airport tarmac shared by the two during their dueling campaign travels.
“I just wanted to check out my future plane,” he joked with reporters after exiting former President Donald Trump’s campaign plane and heading straight to Air Force Two, which had landed with the vice president and her running mate, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.
“I also wanted to go say hello to the vice president and ask her why she refuses to answer questions from the media,” Vance said, jabbing at Harris for not having carried out a lengthy interview or full presser since she began her campaign on July 21, after President Joe Biden ended his reelection bid.
He added, “I at least have enough respect for you all and for the American people to come and talk to you and answer questions.”
Although Vance said he could not speak to Harris, some saw his actions as disrespectful and unnecessary.
Enter K Michelle, who took to her social media platforms to weigh in on the situation. The singer and reality star didn’t mince words, expressing her frustration with Vance’s approach.
“I don’t get into politics,” K Michelle tweeted to her millions of followers. “But to keep disrespecting this woman just really pisses me off!!”
In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, she continued, “Vote for whoever you see fit for your beliefs, but pay her respect as the VP. How dare you, little man.”
“I stand for the RESPECT of EVERYONE!” Adding, “What you NOT gone do is run up on VP Harris!”
It is not uncommon for opposing candidates to cross paths while traveling during a general election campaign, especially given the compressed map that restricts much of the campaign activity to a small number of states that will determine the Electoral College winner.
Hopefully, everything is handled with care and respect.
