The Kamala Harris-Tim Walz presidential campaign has announced a bus tour across South Georgia, culminating in a rally in Savannah next week.

The tour, beginning Wednesday, marks the first time Harris and Walz will campaign together in Georgia since being confirmed as the Democratic party’s 2024 presidential and vice-presidential nominees.

The campaign emphasized the importance of engaging with diverse voters across rural, suburban, and urban parts of South Georgia, particularly in areas with significant Black communities and working-class families.

The tour will end on Thursday with a rally in Savannah, where Harris will take center stage after Walz departs from the state.

Campaigning in this part of the Peach State is critical as it represents a diverse coalition of voters,” the Harris-Walz campaign stated, highlighting their extensive grassroots operation in Georgia.

The campaign boasts the largest Democratic in-state team in Georgia’s history, with over 170 staff members spread across 24 offices.

Georgia remains a pivotal battleground state in the 2024 election, with recent polls showing a tight race between Harris and former President Donald Trump.

The outcome in Georgia is expected to play a crucial role in determining the winner of the election.

Harris had planned to visit Savannah earlier this month, but the trip was delayed due to the impact of Tropical Storm Debby, which caused significant flooding and power outages.
