After nearly four decades of marriage, Linda Mathis, wife of the famous TV judge Greg Mathis, has filed for divorce. The couple, who separated on July 17, cited irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
Linda and Greg Mathis have been married since June 1985, having tied the knot shortly after both graduated from Eastern Michigan University.
Their union, which began in the early years of Greg’s legal career, saw the couple raise four children together: Jade, Camara Mathis Webb, Greg Mathis Jr., and Amir Mathis. As all their children are now adults, issues of child support and custody do not apply.
Linda Mathis is seeking spousal support, while also requesting that the court deny any spousal support to Greg. It remains unclear whether a prenuptial agreement was involved in the marriage.
Greg Mathis, who gained national fame with his eponymous TV court show launched in 1999, has often portrayed a strong family dynamic alongside Linda.
However, the recent launch of the reality series “Mathis Family Matters,” which debuted two years ago, has led to speculation that the pressures of public life may have influenced their decision to part ways.
