Lizzo recently dropped her “Rumors” single featuring Cardi B — and while the feedback was almost all positive… there’s always a hater or two lurking in the comments section.
But Lizzo says she is keeping her head up and had a message for those just like her, who may fight to love themselves at times.
“Loving yourself in a world that don’t love u back takes an incredible amount of self awareness & a bulls–t detector that can see through ass backwards societal standards…,” she tweeted.
“if u managed to love yourself today I’m proud of u. If u haven’t, I’m still proud of u. This s–ts hard.”
Lizzo made headlines last week after she revealed that Cardi B wanted to taste her “WAP” while shooting the video for their “Rumors” collab.
“Let me tell you something. This is the funniest person. Like we were sitting there and she was like, ‘Ok, now whisper into Lizzo’s ear,’ and this is the first time we had to do that because at first, we were just kind of chatting. And she was like, ‘I want to eat your p–sy,’ when I say I died laughing, this girl is so funny to me,” she said. After that the director split us up. She said, ‘Alright y’all can’t stand together anymore we’re going to have to do this in post.'”
She says she wasn’t entirely sure Cardi B was joking.
“To be honest with you, I can’t tell if she was joking or not. Because you know she is always talking about big girl pussy. She always talking about it. She say, ‘P–sy stay wet/ Like a big b–ch,’ remember that,” she giggled.
“Listen, I been keeping track records of this, you know, she talks about it all the time. She said, ‘You know how big girls have wetter v–inas?’ she talks about fat girl p–sy all the time and she has that tongue, so who knows. Maybe the rumors are true,” she concludes.
