Lizzo attends the 2024 Met Gala One month after announcing she’s quitting “negative energy” in a controversial ‘flute’ gown.
The “Juice” singer returned to the Met Gala in 2024, having previously graced the occasion in a mirrored Fendi overcoat last year.
Lizzo wore a skin-toned corseted gown from the Paris-based label Weinsanto, accessorizing with a flower-shaped headpiece that encircled her face.
Weinsanto dubbed the custom mesh gown the “Vase Dress.”
Lizzo has had a turbulent year; in March, she posted an all-caps message on Instagram that read, “I QUIT.”
The “Good as Hell” star expressed how she’s “getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the internet.”
“I’m getting tired of putting up with being dragged by everyone in my life and on the Internet. All I want is to make music, make people happy, and help the world be a little better than how I found it. But I’m starting to feel like the world doesn’t want me in it,” Lizzo wrote.
The Grammy winner has been under much scrutiny lately, even though she never made clear which incidents of “being dragged” she was alluding to.
Three of her former tour dancers sued her for harassment in August of last year, claiming that she had engaged in sexual misconduct and that the workplace had been hostile.
And now, the internet is not impressed with her 2024 Met Gala look, although it was a clever tie-in to the night’s “Garden of Time” theme, inspired by a 1962 J.G. Ballard short story.
“ABSOLUTELY NOT. She looks like she’s melting,” a fan wrote in the comments after TheNeighbourhoodTalk, a media outlet, shared photos from the Met Gala.
Another voiced,” She supposed to resemble stomach intestines???”
“It’s giving doodoo emoji 💩,” another added.
Another fan questioned, “So what is she supposed to be in the garden?”
