Hollywood actress Octavia Spencer says she will not be doing any interviews while she sits at home in self-quarantine.
Spencer posted the message to her Instagram, and she says she’s just not up to it right now.
“Throwing back to last year on #TruthBeToldAppleTvplus Getting a lot of requests to post pictures and videos and to do interviews during quarantine. Welp, I’m not doing interviews because my heart and mind are not on the job,” she wrote in the post alongside a picture of a close up selfie.
“They’re with everyone suffering right now. And no pictures because I have a unibrow, a full on mustache, and am in desperate need of a mani pedi. Y’all are making me laugh and inspiring me at the same time. So, for now here’s my fave quarantine – wish I looked like this now- – look. Stay safe and sane! #VeryGranolaRightNow,” she concluded the post.
Many of the interview requests are likely to be in relation to her role as Madam C.J. Walker in the Netflix limited series, Self Made: Inspired by the Life of Madam C.J. Walker.
“My mom, when we were kids, used her as an example of what we could aspire to be,” Spencer told Essence magazine of Madam Walker in an interview publised earlier this week. “We had nothing and to know that she couldn’t even own property or vote and amassed a fortune–she was the first self-made female millionaire of any ethnicity in this country and she was able to do that with no resources.”
