Regina Hall has inked a first-look deal with Showtime to develop and produce television projects via her production company, Rh Negative.

According to Deadline, the network is already developing a one-hour comedy special featuring Hall as star and executive producer.

“Regina is an undeniable and brilliant force in Hollywood, both in front of and behind the camera,” said Amy Israel, Executive Vice President, Scripted Programming, Showtime Networks. “She is one of the most dynamic and fearless actors of our generation and in her work on Black Monday, she hilariously destroys every scene she’s in. We are thrilled at Showtime to continue and expand our relationship with Regina as a producer and eager to get to work on what promises to be an ambitious slate.”

The Black Monday star has dominated the comedy scene for many years as has starred in several popular movies including, Paid in Full, The Best Man, Girls Trip and the Think Like A Man franchises.

“I am excited to call Showtime home,” Hall said in a statement. “Working with Amy has been such a delightful and organic experience. I am thrilled to expand our partnership to create smart, meaningful and impactful stories.”

In April, Hall sat down with Urban Brigez, where she revealed the change she’d like to see in Hollywood:

“I wish we had a diversity of stories,” she shared. “Which would obviously create more opportunities. I wish there were a diversity of stories that we could tell. You know that didn’t have to do with the same thing, and when I say that like if it’s a time period, does it have to be slavery? If we’re pregnant, do we have to be eating or at Church? And it’s not that we need to do away with what we have, we just need to expand it. We just need more. I feel there are a lot of stories that could be told, that would be great!
