Kelli Ferrell, the latest addition to The Real Housewives of Atlanta, is currently entangled in a lawsuit regarding her restaurant, Nana’s Chicken-N-Waffles, which has escalated into a lawsuit over unpaid wages.

According to legal documents, Saniyah Casey claims she began working at Ferrell’s restaurant on July 8 and remained there until mid-August. Throughout that period, she asserts that she was only compensated once, despite working for several weeks. By her calculations, she’s owed over $2,000 in unpaid wages. A figure that could increase dramatically, as Casey is seeking more than $18,000 in damages, back pay, and legal fees.

Moreover, Casey asserts that this situation not only strained her finances but also negatively impacted her mental health. She expressed her feelings, saying, “The uncertainty of when I’ll receive my wages, coupled with the emotional toll of giving my all at work while they knowingly go on with their lives and still withhold payment, has left me feeling devalued and deeply stressed.” She described the experience as a betrayal that shattered her sense of stability and “significantly impacted” her well-being.

Casey claims to have reached out to Ferrell multiple times, through text messages, emails, and even in person, all in an effort to resolve the payment issue, but she states that her attempts were ignored.

On the other hand, Ferrell’s team is denying any wrongdoing, suggesting that the situation stems from a simple misunderstanding and attributing the missing paycheck to a “routine administrative error” that can occur when establishing a new business. They contend that Casey was offered a certified check for her outstanding wages, but she opted to take legal action instead.

Regardless, this lawsuit arrives at a precarious moment for Ferrell, who has already faced her share of legal controversies. Her team insists they are committed to resolving this matter swiftly, but the damage to her reputation might already be significant, especially since the story is currently circulating in media headlines and fan blogs.
