‘RHOA’s NeNe Leakes Says Husband Gregg is Back at Home Following Cancer Treatment

Former Atlanta Housewife NeNe Leakes has shared that her husband Gregg Leakes is back at home — six weeks after he was admitted for treatment related to the return of his cancer.

“I was suppose to be hosting The Talk today,” NeNe responded to a fan who asked her why she had been missing in action. “But I got good news that Gregg was coming home after being hospitalized 6 weeks.”

Weeks back, NeNe told The Jasmine Brand that Gregg’s colon cancer had returned.

“He’s been in the hospital for a week, tomorrow. I’m sure he’ll be home in about a week or so. He had to have a surgery,” she said.

“He’s super small,” she said. “If you’ve ever been around somebody who’s had cancer before, he’s different. He’s different.”

Following the interview, NeNe then posted an update on social media:

“Hey guys….I was really caught off guard in that interview when asked about Gregg! He’s a private person so i hadn’t said anything publicly (his wishes) (Only our circle really know details) and really sometimes it’s best that way because people just read into it whatever they want too and family, whew Chileeeeee i just can’t. Gregg told me this morning he had 80 text messages and wanted to know what was wrong wit his phone. Thank you for your many prayers[,] text messages and calls,” she wrote on Instagram. “PS: Gregg says to me, keep smiling.”

Things appear to be different for NeNe this time around. NeNe visibly struggled with her caretaking responsibilities in from of the Bravo cameras during Gregg’s first battle with cancer.

“It’s very, very hard to be a caretaker,” she told PEOPLE at the time. “People call and they say, ‘How’s Gregg doing?’ and I want to throw the phone and say, ‘How the f— am I doing? I’m going crazy over here, Gregg is wearing me out!’ I am not good at this s—! I would rather hire somebody. Gregg doesn’t want me to hire somebody, but I’m just not good. I’m not good at fluffing the pillow; I’m good at buying the pillow.”

Gregg was first diagnosed with stage three colon cancer. He was then in remission for two years before the illness struck him once again this year.

Fans flooded NeNe’s mentions with messages of love and support.
