Garcelle Beauvais is the first-ever Black Housewife to star on “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”
During the first season, she had some friction with Kyle Richards and then with her once close friend, Lisa Rinna. Garcelle bonded most with actress Denise Richards, who left at the end of the season amid rumors she’d had a ménage à trois with show alum Brandi Glanville.
Garcelle kicked off the current season without her close pal, but during a recent appearance on “Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen,” she revealed Denise would like to return to the show.
“I think she wants to come back,” said Garcelle.
“Oh, really? Wow, let’s talk after the show,” Cohen said.
“Somebody’s gotta go though,” Garcelle quickly added. “Just saying.”
Cohen told her, “that doesn’t always work when someone says, ‘If you take this one out, well, I’ll come back. Cohen then asked whether the person Garcelle was referring to’s initials were “L.R.”
Lisa Rinna was the ringleader of all of the drama surrounding Denise last season.
Last April, Garcelle opened up to Parade about the “pressures” of being the show’s first Black cast member.
“I didn’t want to go in with anybody’s preconceived notions of what we’re supposed to be. I didn’t want to come in and people think Black women are always angry and that’s not my thing,” she said. “I mean, I can get angry if you provoke me, but I didn’t want to come in there being a certain way. I wanted to come in and assess the situation, let people get to know me.”
She added that the role was more challenging than her Hollywood projects “Because it’s not a character,” she explained. “I can’t hide behind it. I’m not showing up and, you know, being someone else. I am being me. I am letting people into my home with my kids and in my life, so it’s definitely a different animal, if you will.”
