Global megastar Rihanna will be gracing the cover of all 26 international editions of the September issue of Harper’s Bazaar around the world.

The 32-year-old featured in a series of remarkable portraits shot by Gray Sorrenti with creative director Jen Brill.

“I’ve always seen the Fenty brand as more than just makeup and I knew I wanted to make skin care from the very beginning,” she says in the article. “It was just about getting it right. You have to live with the formulas for a while and test them in different ways. It’s very different from makeup in that sense. It takes a long time.”

Her makeup brand is worth billions. More than a decade ago, she spoke with the publication about her dreams of dominating the beauty world.
Riri’s mother, who worked in a store similar to Sephora, being the inspiration.

“She knew everything about perfume, skin care, and makeup,” Rihanna told me. “She never let me wear makeup, but I was secretly fascinated. So when she’d leave home, I would play around with hers.”

Although she is both the creator and the namesake of the brand, unlike some other celebrity-owned brands, Rihanna works hard to distance herself from its vision.

“I’m not the face of my brand, but I am the muse, and my DNA has to run all the way through it,” she told Vogue in 2019. “I don’t want anyone to pull up my website and think, Rihanna would never wear that.”

Congratulations to Rihanna.
