Spice didn’t just talk about Hurricane Melissa, she jumped on a plane, rolled up her sleeves, and headed straight to Jamaica, which was hit by the catastrophic Category 5 storm that devastated the island on October 28, 2025.

With 32 lives lost, 90% of homes in Black River wiped out, and the country facing damages equal to 30% of its GDP, the storm left Jamaica in a crisis not seen in decades. But as international aid poured in from the $24 million pledged by the U.S. to supplies from France and Israel, one of the nation’s most beloved cultural icons made sure she was on the ground, not watching from afar.

This week, Spice shared a video of herself at the airport, letting fans know she was headed home.

“I’ve been doing what I can to help build back Jamaica, one house at a time,” she wrote on Instagram. And she meant every word.

On Wednesday, Spice and her team delivered ten truckloads of building supplies to residents of Bethel Town in Westmoreland, one of the communities left in ruins. Through her Grace Hamilton Foundation, she donated what she calls starter packages for rebuilding homes. These weren’t just symbolic care bundles. Each truck carried blocks, cemen, steel, zinc sheets, pine lumber, ply boards, nails, hurricane straps.

The hurricane damaged the roads so badly that the trucks couldn’t make it up the hill. Most people would’ve turned back. Not Spice.

She rented a backhoe truck and a dumpster truck to clear fallen trees and debris. She made sure nothing stopped those supplies from getting to the families who lost everything.

And she didn’t come empty-handed. A separate truck carried care packages and clothing from her brand Graci Noir.

In her message, Spice thanked the Jamaica Constabulary Force, who volunteered to escort her team through damaged areas.

As Jamaica rebuilds after one of the worst storms in its history, Spice is proving that fame doesn’t separate her from her people. It connects her to them even more.
