The Hollywood Police Department (HPD) has brought allegations against Felicia Smith, a 39-year-old teacher from South Florida, for her involvement in an inappropriate relationship with a student.
Smith, who was employed at Driftwood Middle School, was taken into custody following the accusations but has since been released.
As reported by Local 10 News, Smith disclosed to a detective that she maintained a “maternal relationship” with a student at the school.
The student, aged between 12 and 16 years old, also provided statements to investigators, revealing disturbing details about the alleged encounters.
According to the victim’s testimony, she was coerced into engaging in inappropriate physical contact with Smith and was subjected to kisses, which left visible marks on her cheeks and neck.
The victim recounted that these incidents occurred on multiple occasions, totaling at least three separate instances.
During an interview with an HPD detective, Smith admitted to kissing the victim on the cheek while on school grounds. However, she vehemently denied the other allegations brought against her.
The investigation into this matter is ongoing as authorities work to gather additional.
The allegations against Felicia Smith raise serious legal concerns regarding potential criminal charges and professional repercussions.
Smith could face charges related to sexual misconduct or lewd and lascivious behavior with a minor.
Given that the student involved is between 12 and 16 years old, Smith may be prosecuted under state laws governing sexual offenses involving minors.
