The Carters, Cardi B, Ella Mai, H.E.R. & More Score GRAMMY Nods

During its Friday broadcast (Dec. 7), CBS This Morning announced nominations for the 61st Annual Grammy Awards. The 2018 Best New Artist winner Alessia Cara, Apple Music host Zane Lowe, singer Janelle Monae, and pop sensation Shawn Mendes were on hand to reveal this year’s nominees.

Cardi B, H.E.R, Ella Mai, Toni Braxton, The Carters, and Chloe x Halle are among this year’s nominees for categories across Record of the Year, Album of The Year, and Best New Artist. Cardi B scores an Album of the Year nod for Invasion of Privacy, continuing in the tradition of hip hop artists Lauryn Hill and Outkast, both of whom won the year they were nominated. Will hip-hop history repeat itself?
