Comedian Tiffany Haddish says she’s “disappointed” with Common’s recent remarks about their breakup.
Common opened up about their decision to end things during an interview with Hollywood Unlocked’s Jason Lee.
“It really didn’t allow for us to spend as much time and put as much energy into our relationship,” he told Lee.
“I don’t think the love really dispersed…we weren’t feeding the relationship…neither one of us is gonna stop. We both care about our crafts and what we do. We care about love, too, and partnership, but I think the energy that has been put into our careers and continuing to want to do the things that we do for ourselves and for people… It was hard for me to balance all of that and keep the relationship fed.”
However, Haddish says that Common told her something entirely different.
“I was disappointed,” she said. “I was very disappointed. I was like, ‘Oh, OK. ‘Cause that’s not what you told me, but OK,'” adding that he might be “the type of person that never really settles with somebody; maybe he’s like, you know, like a bee going from flower to flower to flower.”
Common has been linked to several celebrities in the past, including tennis star Serena Williams and political strategist Angela Rye.
Haddish had nothing but kindness to say about her ex despite his words.
“It’s gonna be a new opportunity. I miss him. I miss him from time to time, but that’s with, I think, any intimate relationship that you might have — you miss them. But I’m fine with it. It’s cool.”
