The race for the Republican nomination in Pennsylvania is a hot one, thanks to one controversial underdog.

Kathy Barnette, a hard-right conservative, is currently tied for first place with David McCormick, a retired hedge fund manager and television personality Dr. Mehmet Oz.

And while Barnette, who is anti-abortion, is shining bright and faces a healthy chance of winning, former President Donald J. Trump is not ready to give her his stamp of approval.

Trump’s money is still firmly on Dr. Oz.

“Kathy Barnette will never be able to win the General Election against the Radical Left Democrats,” said Trump.

“She has many things in her past which have not been properly explained or vetted, but if she is able to do so, she will have a wonderful future in the Republican Party — and I will be behind her all the way,” he said. “Dr. Oz is the only one who will be able to easily defeat the Crazed, Lunatic Democrat in Pennsylvania. A vote for anyone else in the Primary is a vote against Victory in the Fall!”

Barnette’s past has been brought up many times during her Senate run. She has been accused of being not only homophobic but Islamaphobic.

“In the immortal words of Rodney King “can’t we all just get along?” How nice it would be if we could. Unfortunately, it’s not always that simple. Can Christianity co-exist with homosexuality? Yes, I believe so. Can Christianity co-exist with the homosexual AGENDA? I vote a resounding NO!,” Barnette penned in an article for the Canada Free Press in 2010.

Speaking to reporters, Barnette revealed that she interpreted Trump’s words as complimentary.

“We know that President Trump does not mince words,” she said. “I think that letter was favorable. And I look forward to working with the president.”

On Monday, Barnette glowing a shining endorsement from SBA List.

“Kathy Barnette is a courageous advocate for life with a deeply compelling personal story,” SBA List President Marjorie Dannenfelser said in a statement announcing a multi-million dollar ad buy. “In stark contrast, John Fetterman sides with Biden-Schumer Democrats who are pushing to impose abortion on demand up to birth nationwide.”
