Wendy Williams has appeared for the first time after disappearing for a year. The former Queen of TV broke down over her financial and health issues in a new documentary about her life.

Wendy Williams mysteriously vanished at the peak of her career after prolonged struggles with substance abuse and numerous health problems.

The 59-year-old appeared in the first trailer for her upcoming special after leaving her talk show during the 12th season in July 2021 amid ongoing health and legal battles.

The documentary, released on Lifetime in the US as a two-night event, will show how Wendy Williams thrives to stay above her declining health.

From late February to mid-March 2018, The former radio host took three weeks off from The Wendy Williams Show due to issues with Graves’ disease and hyperthyroidism.

The bedrest order from her doctors came after Wendy Williams fainted on air in October 2017 while wearing a Statue of Liberty costume for Halloween

In the trailer, her family, especially her son, worries about how the court-appointed guardians have handled her money and her future.

“No matter how many times somebody may fall. You gotta lift them back up. I think the guardian has not done a good job of protecting my mum. Right now, she’s weak and vulnerable, especially to be around people who are going to take advantage of her,” Kevin Hunter Jr. told the camera.

The footage showed Williams struggling to even stand without assistance while a male family member said in the background, “She was put in front of a judge and given a guardian. That was when they took her away from us.”

Her sister also questioned why she wasn’t deemed suitable to care for her own family, placing the entire guardianship system under scrutiny.

“I miss my family. Please be here,” Wendy Williams sobbed.

“I have no money. And I’m gonna tell you something if it happened to me. It could happen to you!”
