In a groundbreaking moment for gymnastics diversity, Konnor McClain, Shilese Jones, and Jordan Chiles achieved history by sweeping the all-around podium at the 2022 U.S. Gymnastics Championships.

Their remarkable feat not only highlights their individual talents but also signifies significant progress in representation within the sport.

While Black women have long played influential roles in gymnastics, with pioneers like Dianne Durham, Betty Okino, Dominique Dawes, Gabby Douglas, and Simone Biles breaking barriers, the 2022 Championships mark the first time the entire all-around podium is comprised of Black gymnasts.
