Leading Latino civic engagement organization Jolt Action has endorsed U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett in the 2026 Texas Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate.
The move marks a historic milestone for the group as it issues its first-ever primary endorsements.
The announcement, made in Austin, comes as the organization unveiled a full slate of candidates it says represent “courage, conviction, and fearless representation” for young voters, Latino communities, and working-class Texans.

Crockett’s endorsement places her among a select group of statewide candidates backed by the organization at what it described as a “critical crossroads” for the state.
Jolt Action leaders stressed the growing political influence of Latino voters in Texas and their increasing role in shaping electoral outcomes.
Executive Director Jackie Bastard said the endorsement reflects rising demand for leadership that addresses economic opportunity, immigrant justice, and democratic protections.
“Latino voters are among the largest and fastest-growing political forces in the state,” Bastard said in a statement. “When our communities organize and show up, we do more than participate — we shape the direction of this state.”
Jolt Action said its selections prioritize candidates with demonstrated commitments to young voters and historically underrepresented communities. The group plans to mobilize thousands of young Texans ahead of the 2026 elections, signaling what it described as a “people-powered” push across the ballot.
For Crockett, the endorsement represents a significant boost from a prominent Latino advocacy organization at an early stage in the primary cycle. Political analysts say such backing could strengthen outreach efforts among younger voters and Latino constituencies, key blocs expected to influence statewide races in the coming years.
Founded in 2016, Jolt Action focuses on building political power among young Latinos through civic engagement and voter mobilization efforts across Texas.
