The family of 15-year-old Teniel Legister, who was last seen on Thursday, May 8, 2025, is issuing a heart-wrenching plea for her safe return, fearing she may have been abducted.
Teniel’s sister, Deandra Ferguson, and her foster mother, Sasha Ferguson, have expressed grave concerns about the teen’s disappearance, describing it as highly unusual and out of character.
“She was always afraid of going to school by herself. At first, we had to take her to school ourselves,” Deandra told Eyewitness News in an emotional interview.

According to the Fergusons, Teniel had a strict check-in routine, regularly calling every 5 to 15 minutes when on her way to school. When they noticed she hadn’t reached her destination and weren’t able to contact her, they quickly became alarmed.
“We realized that she was missing almost immediately—within the hour,” Sasha said. “I checked my tracking app on my phone to see if she had gone where she was supposed to be safely, and it said her phone was off.”

Adding to the urgency, the family has alleged that Teniel’s birth mother may have information about the teen’s whereabouts, though this claim remains unconfirmed.
The Royal Bahamas Police Force confirmed to Eyewitness News on Tuesday morning that the case is under active investigation.
As the community rallies for her return, the family urges anyone with information to contact the authorities immediately.
