Tina Knowles-Lawson got candid about how her beloved bread-winning offspring, Beyoncé, allegedly acts backstage – and it’s not pretty!
Beyoncé’s mother is pouring some motherly tea about how she gets when the heat is turned all the way up.
Ms. Tina shared the revelation with Sherri Shepheard when she appeared on Sherri while discussing what happens when Beyoncé disappears backstage during concerts.
“We laughed about it recently because I was saying, ‘Girl, you can get really mean back there.’ I am really happy I don’t have to be back there anymore because I used to do the quick change…”
“And after we got off, she would say, ‘Momma, I’m so sorry.’ And I’m like, ‘I know.’ And sometimes she be crying. I was like, ‘She crying because she knows she just said some crazy stuff to us,” Tina Knowles-Lawson spilled.
But the momma bear defended her firstborn superstar by clarifying that Beyonce only gets that way in “the heat of the moment.”
She also went on Instagram to clarify what she said at the interview. Knowles-Lawson wrote a detailed explanation of why her daughter “gets mean”.
“You know, I’m gonna get in trouble when she sees this. So I would just clarify that she is not the only one fussing we all are.”
Ms. Tina added that the “commotion” is just for a brief moment, after which she described as it being all love.
“My joke was that it was because she had been mean to us, but that was just a joke, people. She don’t play when it comes to her shows! She is a perfectionist because she feels like she and her fans deserve the best.”
This wouldn’t be the first time Tina Knowles-Lawson has protected Beyoncé from harsh internet gossip.
In 2021, she addressed rumors about Beyonce’s alleged social anxiety after a thread of photos of Jay-Z rubbing his wife’s leg at basketball games went viral.
